Saint John, New Brunswick

Project consisted of re-galvanizing double circuit 69kV steel lattice towers throughout the city of Saint John, NB. Due to outage constraints for large industrial customers, the work was completed under energized conditions as only one circuit was able to be de-energized through completion of the work. This was the first energized project of its kind for NB Power.

The work was completed by multiple contractors including a tower painting contractor completed the re- galvanization of the tower bases and de-energized circuit of the tower while a line contract was engaged to install grounds, replace insulators and paint the energized circuit of the tower utilizing live line work methods.

LG Projects role on this project was to work with the utility to define scope of work, develop project budgets, review energized work methods, and provide construction management, quality assurance and safety management oversight to all contractors engaged on the project.
